Describes the Navy's logistical problems and shows activities at navy yards, shipyards, and with the fleet at sea. Reel 1, seaplanes and destroyers escort a convoy in the North Atlantic. Sec. of the Navy Knox is shown in conference. Shows fierce naval battle and a radar demonstration. A ship is refitted, torpedoes assembled, and naval guns manufactured at a navy yard. Naval aircraft are manufactured and tested. Reel 2, diesel engines and turbines are manufactured. Life rafts are made from re-processed rubber. Ship models are tested. Ships are fitted and launched at a California shipyard. The crew of a destroyer battles enemy aircraft and drops depth charges.

William Franklin "Frank" Knox (January 1, 1874 – April 28, 1944) was an American politician, newspaper editor and publisher. He was also the Republican vice presidential candidate in 1936, and Secretary of the Navy under Franklin D. Roosevelt during most of World War II. On December 7, 1941, Knox flanked by his assistant John O’Keefe walked into Roosevelt's White House study at approximately 1:30 p.m. EST announcing that Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor. Knox was mentioned by name in Adolf Hitler...
